Dutch Society for Rural History / The Netherlands

The Dutch Society for Rural History was founded in 1939. Its mission is the promotion of the scientific study of the history of the countryside, agriculture, the environment and the landscape. It organizes each year two meetings – one in the spring and one in the autumn. Usually the spring meeting is devoted to lectures on a specific topic and the autumn meeting is an excursion. The society also sells books to its member against favourable prices and publishes books on rural history.
