Culinary 'Self' and 'Other'. Migration and Food in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries / Kulinarische "Heimat" und "Fremde". Migration und Ernährung im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert
The international conference explores the interrelations between migration and food. Migration history has identified food as a central field of interaction between migrants and receiving society. Food history has highlighted how movements of people affected food discourses and practices. In short, migration and food are closely interwoven phenomena.
