10 September 2017, Leuven, Belgium

Meeting of the European network for maintaining a
Rural History Online Film Database

The aim of the European Rural History Film Database (ERHFDB) is to enlarge and transform the existing film database of the Archives of rural history (ARH) on agricultural films into a European guide that provides an overview of the large corpus of film production on rural Europe by assembling information about films and film material as source material for historians, social scientists and the public at large. The primary aim is to identify the films, provide context information about it and guide the researcher to other institutions, archival funds or databases, where more information about each specific film or the film itself can be viewed or obtained. Once the database contains information on several thousand films from a variety of European countries it shall be transformed into an open-access Online-Portal.

On Sunday, 10 September 2017 a meeting will be held in Leuven to present the new European network for maintaining the Rural History Online Film Database and discuss future projects.

Researchers/archivists interested in participating in the network are welcome to join the meeting.
