The Agricultural History Society is now accepting nominations for its 2018 awards, to be presented at the annual meeting in June 2019.
To be considered for an award, the article, book, or dissertation must bear a 2018 original publication date. AHS welcomes submissions for the following honors:
The Theodore Saloutos Memorial Award Award for the best book on U.S. agricultural history, broadly interpreted, with an original copyright date of 2018.
The Henry A. Wallace Award for the best book on agricultural history, broadly interpreted, outside the United States, with an original copyright date of 2018.
The Wayne D. Rasmussen Awardfor the best 2018 article on agricultural history, broadly interpreted, not published in the society’s journal Agricultural History.
The Gilbert C. Fite Dissertation Award for the best dissertation on agricultural history, broadly interpreted, defended in 2018.
To nominate a book, article, or dissertation, please e-mail a very brief letter of nomination to Executive Secretary Jim Giesen. Articles and dissertations may be submitted electronically as .pdf. Please send four copies of nominated books to the Society office.
All nominations must be received by January 15, 2019.
