Workshop:
Rural Films in Central and Eastern Europe

The Archives of Rural History (ARH) and the European Rural History Film Association (ERHFA) are expanding their activities in Central and Eastern Europe. For representatives of institutions interested in participating in this process we are organizing a workshop subsequent to the Rural History 2023 Conference in Cluj.

The topics of the workshop are the following:

  1. Presentation of the European Rural History Film Association. The ERHFA maintains together with the ARH a Film Database that contains information on more than 4'000 films, an Online-Portal that provides access to more than 1'000 films from 23 institutions in 9 countries and publishes the series Video Essays in Rural History (www.ruralfilms.eu).
  2. Why should and how could my institution (museum, archival or research institution, library etc.) join the ERHFA as a contributing institution or as a member? Jürg Schneider, Deputy Head of Mission and Head Swiss Contribution Offices Bratislava and Prague will inform the participants of the Workshop about funding structures and opportunities in the area of research in the context of Switzerland’s second contribution to EU cohesion in Central and Eastern Europe.

Individuals and representatives of institutions from Central and Eastern Europe are kindly invited to attend the Workshop at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on the 15th of September 2023.

If you are interested, please contact us at: info@ruralfilms.eu. We will then send you more information about the event.
