Call for Applications for Two Research Grants in the field of History (SSD SECS-P/12) at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca on the topic “Inclusion and Inequality: Political representativeness, public incomes and economic inequality in the Early Modern Italian mountain areas (1500-1800)”
Closing dates for applications: 3 January 2024 and 15 January 2024
1 Research Grant for cooperation in research activities, with a duration of 24 months, in the field of History (SDS SECS-P/12), for the following activities: the researcher will work in the PRIN 2022 PNRR project "Political Inclusion and Inequality in Preindustrial Italian Alps (1500-1800)". He/she will collect and analyse data from the accounting books of the rural communities, from the tax surveys and from the registers of the rural councils in the areas included in the research project. He/she will then observe the trend of the incomes coming from the taxation and from the common properties in the period 1500-1800 and the relationship between the composition of the public incomes, the trend of the economic inequality, and the potential narrowing of the rural councils.
Admission requirements
The selection is open to candidates holding a scientific and professional curriculum suitable for the requested research activities as provided in the present call, holding a Second Cycle University Degree or equivalent (Laurea Specialistica/Magistrale, Laura Magistrale a ciclo unico / Laurea vecchio ordinamento, prior to Ministerial Decree no. 509/99).
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Master's Degree, or a legally equivalent qualification;
- knowledge of the English language.
The above requirements must be possessed within the application deadline.
For qualifications obtained abroad that have not already been recognised in Italy with formal procedure pursuant to the applicable laws, if requested by the candidate when submitting the application, the Selection Board will assess the equivalence to the declared qualifications, for the sole purposes of the present selection.
Applicants will be admitted to the selection process subject to conditions.
Preference will be given to applicants holding a PhD or an equivalent foreign certification.
